According to RadarOnline, the married couple has been living an excessively lavish lifestyle beyond their means, but Jolie dragged her feet when given the chance to make a big paycheck. “She was refusing to sign up for the lucrative lead role in the Maleficent sequel even though it will bring in cash they desperately need,” a so-called “insider” tells the site.
The webloid’s misinformed source goes on to claim that Jolie has turned down many big roles recently, which has supposedly “upset Brad, who’s pointing out the family isn’t in a position to reject a $30 million-plus paycheck.” But Extreme Entertainment checked in with a source close to the couple, who exclusively assures us that there’s simply “no truth” to the site’s claims. Without getting into specifics, we’re told the movie star couple is well off and aren’t arguing about finances. Additionally, Jolie has in fact signed on for Maleficent 2, and it remains a passion project.
Of course, Extreme Entertainment has exhaustively corrected RadarOnline’s many bogus stories about Pitt and Jolie, so the inaccuracy of the webloid’s latest report isn’t surprising. We recently debunked the site’s allegation that the actor was “caught kissing another woman” behind his wife’s back. And shortly before that, we busted the phony claim that the couple was secretly adopting a seventh child from Cambodia. This latest report is equally untrue.
