Adele’s music video for “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” premiered during the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday. Watch below!
“Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” is the third single from Adele’s record-breaking album, 25, which came out last November. It follows “Hello” and “When We Were Young” as songs officially released to radio from the album. So far, the track has peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart.
The decision to now debut the music video in conjunction with the BBMAs follows the successful premiere of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” at last year’s ceremony. But unlike Swift, Adele wasn’t at the show to introduce the clip in person. The singer is currently on a world tour, and had a concert in Lisbon, Portugal earlier in the day.
Still, there were multiple opportunities for Adele to have an ongoing presence throughout the night. She was nominated for awards in seven different categories, including the biggest honor, Top Artist of the Year. She was previously victorious in that category in 2012, and, prior to tonight, has won 13 Billboard Music Awards total.
Adele will be busy on the road through the summer and fall, with her tour currently scheduled until mid-November. While it remains to be seen if she’ll make appearances at the MTV Video Music Awards and American Music Awards, fans can certainly expect to see her at the Grammys next February.
