Various online reports suggest that an arrest warrant for Chris Brown may be issued by the end of the week.
The alleged forthcoming warrant would be in relation to an incident involving the R&B singer outside of a South Beach nightclub. He was reportedly exiting a cameo early Sunday morning when a fan named Christal Spann ran up behind him to take a picture of him on her iPhone. According to Spann, he yelled, “B*tch, you ain’t going to put that on no website,” and then took her phone from her before driving on in his Bentley. She filed a police report and accused the singer of robbery.
“We’ve been waiting for the green light from the State Attorney all weekend,” said an unidentified source familiar with the police-side of the case to Gossip Extra.
State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle released a statement saying that prosecutors were going to review the case and then determine what action needs to take place. A process that may be slowed down considerably since the prosecutor in charge of the case is currently in the middle of a trial.
“Given that the prosecutor handling the case is in trial today (February 27), nothing will happen until that trial is complete,” said Ed Griffith, a spokesman for the State Attorney’s Office.
Since Brown is currently on probation, a robbery conviction could lead to jail time.
