The Aussie gushes over his ‘Hunger Games’ co-star, adding that she’s ‘perfect’ for the role of Katniss!
Gale may pine for Katniss from a distance in The Hunger Games, but in real life, Liam Hemsworth‘s admiration for co-star Jennifer Lawrence is strictly on a professional level. “She’s one of the best actresses I’ve ever worked with,” Liam said March 20 on Good Morning America. “She’s perfect for this role. The character she plays is extremely courageous and young.”
But Jennifer wasn’t the only Hunger Games co-star Liam chatted about. He also revealed how he bonded with Josh Hutcherson – and, honestly, it was kind of gross.
“I didn’t even know White Castle existed until we went to Kentucky [where Josh is from],” Liam said. “And we thought it’d be a good idea to play basketball after eating White Castle. We threw up a little together.”
Liam also revealed how he got in shape for his new role: It’s all thanks to big bro Chris Hemsworth!
“Not a lot of eating, that was the biggest thing,” Liam said of his regimen. “[Chris] heard I was eating too much. He told me, ‘It’s The Hunger Games, not The Eating Games,’ so I started training.”
And Chris, who famously bulked up for his role in Thor, is more than just Liam’s personal fitness guru.
“He’s one of my biggest role models in the world,” Liam admitted. “It makes it a little bit easier to have someone like him.”
Oh, brotherly love.
