An alleged sex offender has been arrested in Canada for posing as Justin Bieberonline and soliciting sexual acts from minors.
Lee Moir of Ontario was busted after he allegedly tried to lure youngsters in Canada and the U.S. by impersonating the singing superstar on social media sites.
The 34-year-old Moir is accused of extorting “a 12-year-old girl through Facebook while pretending to be Justin Bieber,” the Toronto Police Service’s Sex Crimes Unit said in a statement.
He also allegedly “threatened the victim repeatedly to entice her to perform sexual acts on her webcam. The girl complied and when she eventually ceased communication, the man told her he posted the videos to a pornographic website.”
The investigation was started by U.S. law enforcement, and then picked up by the Toronto Police Service after it was discovered Moir was living there.
He was arrested on Wednesday in a sting operation, after he tried to meet an undercover officer in Toronto, posing as a 14-year-old.
Moir, who used the Facebook alias “Justy.beber1″ among others, has been charged with luring a child under 16, making and possessing child pornography, extortion, and invitation to sexual touching.
