Through his years in the spotlight, Justin Bieber has never been bashful about what an inspiration Michael Jackson has been to him as a singer/songwriter. Today, Bieber has shared the first look at how Jackson has inspired him visually in a glimpse of his new video for “Boyfriend.”
In the third teaser (watch the first two here and here), Bieber strikes a classic Jackson pose in silhouette, head down, legs crossed, with one hand extended to snap (do you hear the hearts of teenage girls landing on the floor?). Bieber spoke to Ryan about how Jackson inspired songs on his new album Believe during a recent “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” interview.
“The music is very fresh, but it’s also I’m taking a lot from old school music,” explained Bieber of the album that’s marking a new phase in Bieber’s career. “A lot of Michael Jackson is inspired in this album. A lot of old R&B. A lot of old pop. Just stuff that I feel I can bring into, but also make fresh and new.”
Back to the 13-second video clip, fans also get their first look at Bieber’s love interest for the video, a girl who looks strikingly similar to Bieber’s rumored ex-girlfriend Jasmine Villagas. Whoever she is, it’s safe to say Bieber’s taste for Latin women hasn’t faltered in recent months.
