Mattel is ready to capitalize on the success ofThe Hunger Games.
EW revealed the new Katniss Everdeen Barbie this morning, which is decked out in Katniss’ Arena attire. Sorry girls, no “girl on fire” dress this time.
“I chose to dress her in the outfit she wears during the games, since this is where all the non-stop action takes place and is instantly recognizable by fans,” says designer Bill Greening of the Katniss Barbie. “Of course, she wears her mockingjay pin proudly on her lapel.”
While the doll doesn’t look that much like Jennifer Lawrence herself, there’s already a Katniss action figure that looks more like her, it should fit in nicely with Barbie collectors.
The Hunger Games‘ Katniss Barbie will be available everywhere in August and for pre-order starting today at 12 p.m. ET at BarbieCollector.com and various other online retail outlets.
