Katy Perry is going 3D with “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” a documentary style concert movie that will hit theaters fourth of July weekend. Similar to Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never,” cameras followed Katy through parts of her tour and also collected photos and tapes from before she was famous, which is all edited together in one spectacular 3D flick.
“The atmosphere I grew up in was 100% Christian,” says Katy in the trailer for “Part of Me,” which might surprise people considering her first big hit was called “I Kissed a Girl.” But like many popular singers, Katy got her musical start by performing in church. “If you’ve got a dream, you have to go on a journey to fulfill that dream,” she says, and obviously the “Firework” singer has fulfilled most of that dream because a concert movie is one of the hallmarks of a true pop star in this day and age.
