Anchor Bay Films has picked up rights to all English-speaking territories for two action movies, Officer Down and Pawn.
Officer Down, directed by Brian A. Miller and written by John Chase, follows a rogue police officer who, in order to pay back old debts, seeks revenge against the men responsible for a young woman’s death. Stephen Dorff, Dominic Purcell, AnnaLynne McCord, David Boreanaz, Walton Goggins, Stephen Lang and James Woods star. It was produced by Jeff Most of Most Films, Jeff Bozz, Dr. Mohammed Zahoor and Jeff Rice.
Pawn, directed by David A. Armstrongand written by Jerome Anthony White, centers on a petty robbery that spirals into a hostage situation after three gunmen hold up a diner that's a front for the mob. It stars Michael Chiklis, Common, Marton Csokas, Sean Faris, Stephen Lang, Ray Liotta, Nikki Reed, Jessica Szoh, and Forest Whitaker. It was produced by Michael Becker of Imprint Entertainment, Chiklis, Brad Luff and Most.
Both deals, announced Tuesday by Anchor Bay Entertainment president Bill Clark, were negotiated by Kevin Kasha on behalf of Anchor Bay and attorney Elsa Ramo and Most on behalf of the producers and Roman Kopelevich of Red Sea Media.
Red Sea Media is handling international sales for both titles and has completed sales in Cannes on both to Polar Star (Latin America), Globo TV (Brazil), Dutch FilmWorks, (Benelux), Eagle Films (Middle East), IPA (Thailand), Prorom (Romania), Horizon Int'l (Turkey) and is in negotiations with France and Germany.
