CANNES - Colin Firth has signed up to star as Noel Coward in BiteSize Entertainment’s dramedy Mad Dogs and Englishmen, the story of Coward’s two weeks at The Desert Inn in Las Vegas in 1955.
Willy Holtzman is writing the screenplay.
Coward, the flamboyant English playwright, director, actor and singer, performed at the Desert Inn in 1955, drawing big crowds, including from Hollywood.
There is no start date set for the production, which is currently looking to select a director.
U.S.-based BiteSize is a new multi-platform production company unveiled earlier this week here by producer Gene Kirkwood (Rocky) and Ron Bloom, CEO of online video firm Mevio.
Kirkwood and his production partner Ross Elliot are producing Mad Dogs. They folded their production banner Kirkwood-Elliot Productions into BiteSize to make it the exclusive feature film production arm of the company.
