It marked O’Brien’s first visit to Letterman in more than a decade, and from the very first moments — when the two talk icons sat in awkward silence — it was clear this would not be a typical “Late Show” interview.
The “Conan” host talked about his relationship with Leno before and after the 2010 “Tonight” debacle, and also shared a very funny anecdote about the immediate aftermath of his “demotion” from the show.
Letterman, meanwhile, talked about his glee in seeing the O’Brien-Leno fight from afar and touched upon his own (very long) history with Leno, whom he says was always the funniest guy but also a “brat.”
