Phillip Phillips, who won “American Idol”this week despite ongoing health problems, is apparently as good a son as he is a performer.
The singer is reportedly giving his parents the 2013 Ford Fusion he won on “Idol” as a gift.
Rather than using the new wheels himself, Phillips will keep on trucking in his 2001 Ford Ranger, according to TMZ.
Meanwhile, it’s being reported that Phillips will have surgery on his kidney on Tuesday.
He’s already undergone several procedures, including a temporary stent while still in the midst of the “Idol” competition this spring.
