Trace Adkins and Penn Jillette faced off on the live “Celebrity Apprentice: All-Stars” finale on Sunday.
But, only one of them was told “You’re hired!”
In their final challenge, the two contestants were asked to create their own Walgreens Delish ice cream flavor, produce a promotional video, and host a VIP launch party, with the help of their former competitors.
Last week, viewers saw both Adkins — the only star to make to the finale for a second time in show history — and Jillette perfecting their flavor and videos, then trying to score huge donations from their celebrity pals.
Ultimately, they each managed to pull off great ice cream socials — but then had to face Donald Trump in the boardroom.
Walgreens loved the outputs from both teams, and it was revealed Adkins (playing for the American Red Cross) raised $564,000, compared to the $503,655 Jillette (playing for Opportunity Village) raked in.
But because Jillette’s ice cream sold more pints than Adkins, the illusionist won an extra $100,000 from Walgreens.
Live on stage, Adkins and Jillette each made the case for why they deserved to be the next “Celebrity Apprentice,” and the fired contestants weighed in as well.
In the end, Trump decided to hire Adkins!
That makes Adkins the first contestant to lose in a finale (in 2008, where he was runner-up to Piers Morgan) and win in a finale!
What do you think of the new “Celebrity Apprentice” winner?
