At 6’1″ and 220 pounds, you’d think Bret Lockett would never have any problems with bullies.
But the NY Jets player is revealing to BullyVille that he was bullied a few times beginning in middle school.
“My sixth grader year, I was walking to P.E. when I was tripped from behind by a classmate of mine,” the NFL jock writes. “Him and two other classmates pushed me down and proceeded to kick and punch me while I was on the ground. I was caught completely off guard and was not able to defend myself until I pulled myself off the ground and punched one of the guy.”
Although Bret didn’t start the fight, he was suspended as well of all of the other kids.
Bret said he’s seen many incidents of bullying since then including in the work place and he reminds us all, “If you witness something talk, if you hear about something report it, it is never too early and never too late to stop a bully and potentially save someone’s life.”
