RumorFix has learned exclusively that a “bench” plot (for four people) near Marilyn Monroe’s crypt is on sale on Ebay for $699,000 — more than most of us pay for a house!
“People are just dying to get in” dealer Irvin Gelb deadpans to RumorFix. Gelb says this is the only bench estate that is available at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park — and it’s on the same corner as Marilyn! Just a few feet away you can find Natalie Wood, Farrah Fawcett, Dean Martin, Truman Capote, Donna Reed, Merv Griffin, jack Lemmon and Walter Mattahu.
The seller, who Gelb describes as “young, hip and very much alive” wants to remain anonymous. Gelb says he got the plot and the dog in a divorce. While he’s keeping the pooch, he’d rather be buried closer to Joan Crawford. He’s looking for a property in Ferncliff Cemetery in New York. “He’d be happier buried back east anyway,” Gelb says, “He has a strong fear of earthquakes and he loved Mildred Pierce.”
