When the cast of Big Time Rush found out about an emotional letter to Santa, they mobilized to bring Christmas early to eight-year-old twins Ryan and Amber Suffern, Extreme Entertainment has learned exclusively.
In the letter, Ryan said he wanted a remote control car and helicopter, but added, “I don’t want that anymor. Kids at school are still picking on Amber and its not fair. I prayed that they will stop but god is bisy and needs your help.”
Then at the end of the letter, he asked if Big Time Rush could come to their birthday party. “Can you ask Big Time Rush to come to Amber’s B-day party, It will make her so happy. If you can’t get them to come … just get her everything she ask for.”
As soon as the boy band of the Nickelodeon show found out about the appeal — they went to work to cheer up the children.
Stephen Kramer Glickman, who plays the manager Gustavo on the show, recorded a video from his home in LA sending Amber love and support.
Stephen tells Extreme Entertainment, “I was being bullied for being overweight and for being Jewish when I was in seventh and eighth grade. Kids were awful to me. When one kid beat me up for being Jewish, I reported it to the principal and he got expelled. However, when word got out why he had been expelled, all of his friends started bullying me even worse. They were ruthless. These kids would tie me up with jump ropes behind the gym and beat me to a pulp. Teachers chalked it up to ‘boys being boys.’ It was at that point my mother pulled me out of school and put into home schooling. That’s why this story of this boy and his sister had such a huge impact on me.”
And then the boys, James Maslow, Carlos Pena, Kendall Schmidt and Logan Henderson, went out of their way to make Ryan’s dream come true. The boy band is on tour, so they flew the twins to New York for a surprise meeting with their idols. The emotional meeting will be shown on Good Morning America on Friday.
