The victim of a cruel joke wound up getting the last laugh thanks to an amazing gesture by two friends at her high school’s homecoming.
When some horrible classmates at Grand Prairie High School in Texas told 17-year-oldLillian Skinner that she’d been nominated for the homecoming court, it turned out just to be a nasty prank.
But Skinner’s two friends, Anahi Alvarez andNaomi Martinez, who were in the homecoming court, decided to turn the situation into a positive — promising each other they’d give Skinner the crown if either of them was named homecoming queen.
“She’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met,” Martinez tells NBC5 of Skinner.
Alvarez adds, “She’s an amazing girl; she’s so sweet.”
When Alvarez was awarded the crown, she made good on her vow and placed it on Skinner’s head.
Skinner’s joyous reaction made the whole thing worthwhile.
