The teaser trailer forJurassic World premiered on Thursday, sharing the very first footage from the highly-anticipated movie. Watch below!
Jurassic World is the fourth installment in the Jurassic Parkfranchise, which started in 1993. The second film, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, came out in 1997, followed by Jurassic Park III in 2001. A fourth installment had been rumored for years until it all finally came together with an official announcement in early 2013.
The new movie stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, both of whom appear in the debut footage. Filmed in 3-D, the plot takes place 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, with a fully-functioning dinosaur theme park now operating on Isla Nublar. Few other details are known, except that Vincent D’Onofrio will star as Morton, CFO of the Masrani Corp, which owns the Jurassic World theme park, and he is expected to be the movie’s villain. Pratt plays a Jurassic World employee.
Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Steven Spielberg, who helmed the first two films, serves as an executive producer. The full trailer will debut on Thanksgiving, and the movie will hit theaters on June 12, 2015. The preview is set to a new version of John Williams’ famous score.
