Drew Barrymore has turned forty and posted a make-up free selfie.
Drew celebrated her birthday on a mystery stunning beach with waves crashing around.
She captioned the brave image simply: “forty”
The actress wore no make-up in her Instagram image as she closed her eyes and smiled towards the sun while squinting her eyes.
It looks like Drew had just gone for a swim in the ocean because her hair was wet and slicked-back and she was wearing a black swimming suit.
And as Hollywood’s biggest stars braved the rain at the Oscars Drew was enjoying much warmer weather as she celebrated turning forty with family and friends.
The actress, who became famous aged only 6, after starring in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982, seemed totally at ease and relaxed.
Since then she has gone on to produce and direct while starring in over 60 movies throughout her career.
Barrymore overcame a turbulent childhood which was marked by drug and alcohol abuse and a few stints in rehab.
She wrote about her troubles in her 1990 autobiography Little Girl Lost, however, she over came her issues and went on to become a household name through film like The Wedding Singer and 50 Dates.
Barrymore is also known for doing charity work and was named an Ambassador Against Hunger for the UN World Food Programmer and has donated $1 million to the cause.
In 2007, she became both CoverGirl’s newest model and spokeswoman for the cosmetic and the face for Gucci’s newest jewelry line also.
However, now the former party girl now leads a much quieter life away from the spotlight.
The twice married Charlie’s Angels star is now happily married to socialite and arts dealer, Will Kopelman, after the pair tied the knot back on June 2, 2012, in Montecito in California.
And no doubt Drew and her husband celebrated her birthday with their two daughters, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, 2, and Frankie Barrymore who is now nine-months-old.
