Vanilla Ice Allegedly Lied To Police About Burglary: Report

Vanilla Ice allegedly lied to police and his own workers about owning the vacant Florida home he’s been accused of burglarizing. As Extreme Entertainment reported, the onetime rapper and current reality TV star, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, was charged with burglary and grand theft after allegedly taking thousands of dollars in property from an unoccupied residence near where he was filming his renovation series “The Vanilla Ice Project.”
TMZ now reports there may be a problem with Vanilla Ice’s story. According to the outlet, the police report of the incident indicates that he misled authorities into believing he owned the home that was burglarized. His foreman also reportedly claims Vanilla Ice lied to him about owning the property and even instructed the production crew to go into the house and make off with items like a $3,000 pool heater and $1,000 sofa. Bicycles, patio chairs and other items were also swiped.
Released on bail on Thursday, Vanilla Ice characterized the whole thing as a “misunderstanding,” claiming it had been “blown out of proportion” and complaining that “good news doesn’t travel this fast.” He told the press, “It will all get cleared up. You’ll see.” See the video below.
