VIDEO: Jimmy Kimmel Live Tricks People With Hilarious Fake Movies On Oscars Special “Lie Witness News”

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live” post-Oscars special featured a hilarious installment of “Lie Witness News” in which a camera crew got regular people to believe some crazymovie premises. It’s really worth watching. Check out the video below.
One woman was asked, “What did you think of Helen Mirren’s performance as Cate Blanchett as Judi Dench as Larry Bird in Birdman? Was it powerful?” She earnestly answered, “It was definitely powerful!.. It was definitely something I recommend seeing, it was really wonderful.”
Another person was told Julianne Moore cried for 90 minutes in a movie called Cryface. Someone was informed that Boyhood begins with the boy being thrown into an active volcano. The interviewer asked for an opinion on Angelina Jolie’s portrayal of Rosa Parks inSelma. And in every case, the people being interviewed acted as though they’d seen these completely made-up, nonsensical movie moments.
We particularly enjoyed the guy who loved when Stephen Hawking got to his feet and “punched Albert Einstein in the face” in The Theory of Everything, as well as the man who was duped into believing The Imitation Game was just Benedict Cumberbatch doing a series of celebrity impressions. Even though the “Jimmy Kimmel” team made up all of it, we’d love to watch some of these fake movies. Watch the “Lie Witness News: Oscars 2015″ video below, and tell us what you think.
