James Corden Wins “Golden Ticket” To Host Late Late Show In Star-Studded Video

James Corden kicked off his “Late Late Show” debut on Monday by humorously showing how he got the job with a “Golden Ticket.” Several Hollywood stars pop up in the very funny segment, Corden’s first comedy bit upon replacing Craig Ferguson as host of the late night program. Watch the video below!
“Now I’m sure that a lot of people are wondering how I got here, in this seat tonight, including myself,” Corden told his audience. “Well, rather than tell you we thought we’d show you this.” In the pre-taped segment, CBS boss Leslie Moonves is seen discussing the need to find another late-night host and brings in a few Oompa-Loopas to help him. Moonves hands one of theWilly Wonka and the Chocolate Factory characters a golden ticket and instructs him to place it in a chocolate bar.
Just like in the movie, whoever finds the ticket wins the big prize — in this case, the late-night hosting gig. A number of celebrities try to snag the it, including Chris Rock, Simon Cowell, Billy Crystal, Lena Dunham, Eddie Redmayne and Katie Couric.
Chelsea Handler ends up buying the lucky chocolate bar, but she drops it on the ground without realizing what it contains. Corden happens to be walking by and scoops up the candy and the ticket. The comedian is then taught a few tricks about how to be a good host. Jay Leno makes an appearance to teach Corden about interacting with the audience, Shia LaBeouf has a heart-to-heart talk with him, Arnold Schwarzenegger tries to get Corden in shape, and Allison Janney teaches Corden about anecdotes. Meryl Streep even offers a few encouraging words. Watch the James Corden “Golden Ticket” video, and tell us what you think.
