Jared Leto has gotten a haircut. The Oscar winner has cut off his famous long locks for the upcoming Suicide Squad, in which he plays The Joker. The world has reacted to the loss of Leto’s mane with an outpouring of grief.
David Ayer, the movie’s director, provided the visual evidence. First, he tweeted a picture of Leto’s hair in a pony tail, with a pair of scissors ready to snip. It was captioned, “Should we? #SuicideSquad.” Next came a picture of Leto’s face, framed by shorter hair, with his beard shaved. “#SuicideSquad,” wrote Ayer. Leto himself has not posted any of his own pictures yet, but he did share Ayer’s first picture on Instagram, along with the words, “I miss my beard already.” It seems like Leto is not alone in missing the hairy look. Hundreds of fans commented on his picture with some variation on, “Nooooooo!!!!” A number of followers mourned the end of Leto’s “man bun.” Outlets pined for his flowing mane.
