New “Twilight” Book “Life And Death” Reverses Characters’ Genders (VIDEO)

Twilight” will be getting a surprise twist in honor of the book’s 10th anniversary with the release of “Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined,” a new novel that swaps the genders of main characters Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. Author Stephenie Meyer made the announcement on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America.” Watch the video below!
As Extreme Entertainment reported, the novel “Twilight” is being re-released on Tuesday with bonus content to mark the best-selling book’s 10th anniversary. But Meyer has just dropped the bombshell that some of that bonus content includes an entirely new chapter in the saga. The general premise will remain the same, however, this time around the story is told through the eyes of Beau instead of Bella. Vampire Edward becomes vampire Edythe, while werewolf Jacob transforms into werewolf Julie.
“I wanted to do something fun for the 10th anniversary, and the publisher wanted like a foreword and I thought, ‘Well, maybe something more interesting,'” Meyer explained on “GMA.” As far as the major differences, the author said, “The further you get in, the more it changes because the personalities get a little bit different, but it starts out very similar and really, it really is the same story because it’s just a love story and it doesn’t matter who’s the boy and who’s the girl, it still works out.”
“Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined” is in stores now. Watch Stephanie Meyer make the exciting announcement about the new novel in the video below, and tell Extreme Entertainment what you think.
