Gwen Stefani turned down Blake Shelton’s proposal? That’s one of the claims in Wednesday’s tabloids. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively separate the fact from the fiction.
“When it comes to marrying Blake Shelton, his No Doubt songbird girlfriend has too many doubts,” writes the National Enquirer, which claims Stefani “surprisingly said no to the country hunk’s marriage proposal.” When did Shelton supposedly pop the question?
Tellingly, the magazine doesn’t say, but claims, “During an indoor picnic at her mansion, Blake hid a stunning $1.2 million Tiffany diamond engagement ring in a box of Kentucky Fried Chicken! But when Gwen found the bling, she didn’t react with joy as he hoped.”
“Gwen was very touched, but said she had to wait to make sure it was right for [her] kids,” alleges a so-called “spy.” So someone actually witnessed Shelton’s rejected proposal… but doesn’t know when it took place? That’s not the only red flag here.
Just look at this timeline: The National Enquirer actually claimed Shelton proposed to Stefani AND she accepted back in December. Then in February, the gossip rag alleged he dumped her over a “secret diary.” And then just last month, the outlet announced they were in a “rush to the altar.”
But now the supermarket tabloid wants readers to believe there was only a proposal just recently that Stefani turned down? Right. Here’s what’s really going on: They never got engaged in December. Shelton never dumped her in February. And they weren’t rushing to the altar in April.
Now the magazine is just simply covering its tracks with this rejection story that explains why the couple is still together but not getting married. But it’s all made up, just like the previous pieces. And Extreme Entertainment fully expects the fictional saga to take a new turn next month. When it does, we’ll still be here to separate the fact from fiction once again.
