Celebrities Perform Prince Songs In Honor Of Musician’s Birthday

A handful of celebrities paid tribute to Prince on what would have been his 58th birthday by performing the legendary musician’s songs.
Chris Evans, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Kit Harington were among the many stars who presented W magazine with their own interpretation of Prince’s music, including his hits “Kiss,” “Little Red Corvette,” and “Diamonds and Pearls.” Additional celebrities featured in the videos include Ethan Hawke, Cindy Crawford, Rami Malek, Elle Fanning, Nate Parker, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tye Sheridan, Melissa Benoist, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
The celebs also shared their favorite memories of the iconic singer. Crawford recalled the time that Prince randomly began dancing with her at a nightclub and then later wrote a song about her called “Cindy C.” Parker said he was in awe of the musician when he spotted him at a Warriors Game, while Malek admitted to once dressing up as Prince for Halloween and wearing “mostly” women’s clothing.
Evans went on to tell a story about meeting Prince backstage after one of the singer’s concerts, describing him as “the nicest guy in the world.” And after his encounter with the musician, the actor remembered thinking, “Prince is cool as hell!” As Extreme Entertainment reported earlier, June 7 marks “Prince Day” in the singer’s native Minnesota. The commemoration comes less than two months after the superstar died.
