Lil Wayne suffered two seizures on Monday. The first episode occurred during a flight from Milwaukee to Los Angeles, resulting in his plane having to make an emergency landing in Omaha. Lil Wayne refused medical assistance emergency personnel at the Nebraska airport, and minutes after his plane was airborne again, the rapper had a second seizure and returned to the ground, where paramedics are treating him now.
This is not the first time Lil Wayne has suffered seizures nor the first time he’s had his private jet make an emergency landing. As Extreme Entertainment reported in October 2012, Lil Wayne had a seizure aboard a plane that quickly had to land in Texas, where he was briefly hospitalized. The following day, he left the hospital, boarded his private jet again, and suffered a second seizure, causing his plane, which was en route to Los Angeles, to make an emergency landing in Louisiana.
Nor was that his last heath scare. In March 2013, Lil Wayne had yet another seizure that led him to be hospitalized in Los Angeles, where a steady of friends, including Nicki Minaj and Drake, visited the rapper. At the time, there were a number of conflicting reports as to the severity of his seizure. TMZ had reported, at the time, that he was in a coma and in intensive care, but his reps denied Lil Wayne’s condition was critical, and noted he has had epilepsy and seizures ever since he was a kid.
