Billy Gilman “The Voice” Audition Video: Watch “When We Were Young” Performance!

Former country star Billy Gilman made a huge comeback on “The Voice” on Tuesday, turning all four chairs. Watch below!
Like some of the coaches, viewers may remember Gilman from his career as a child star. The performer had a hit song, “One Voice,” at just 11 years old. The track earned him a Grammy nomination back in 2001.
Since, then, however, Gilman hasn’t been able to match that success, with his voice changing and Sony dropping his record deal. And now he was looking for another chance via the NBC music competition, with his focus on pop music. For his audition, he covered Adele’s “When We Were Young,” and it actually took some time before any of the coaches hit their buttons.
After some intense listening, it was Levine who pushed first after Gilman hit a high note. At the second high note, Miley Cyrus turned around, and even stood up, swaying along to the music. And at the very end, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys hit their buttons, too, giving Gilman the sweep, as well as a standing ovation from all four coaches.
Gilman couldn’t help but cry at the response, and said how it was an “honor” to stand before them. Shelton very much remembered the contestant’s past, noting that “One Voice” came out when he was making his first album. “It’s crazy, Billy, because you always wonder whatever happened to somebody?” the country superstar said. “Now you’ve found your sound and where you belong musically.”
Cyrus, too, recognized Gilman, who noted he opened up for her famous father, Billy Ray Cyrus. “I know who the hell you are! Let me take care of you,” she exclaimed. But Levine, who was still standing, pointed out, “I haven’t sat down because I can’t. Like it’s not physically possible at this point. So rarely do I hear everything happen on this stage.”
He went on, “This intangible quality that you possess is exactly what embodies the person that wins this show. You really could be the guy. I’m blown away, and I’m not sitting down until you join my team.” Keys, meanwhile, gave Gilman props for taking the stage, and said she hoped to “continue to be inspired by you.”
But whose team was Gilman inspired to join? He went with Levine! Check out the video below!
