While celebrity death hoaxes tend to occur on a weekly basis these days, fake cover stories seem to be the scandals-on-the-rise that could potentially plague our favorite stars in the new year. The first victim?Twilight Saga hunk Taylor Lautner.

As reported by E! Online, a fake cover of People magazine made its way around the internet on Monday with Taylor front and center of an “Out and Proud” piece.

The false headline claimed that Taylor was “tired of the rumors” and ready to announce to the world that he was gay. The imposter-issue even “quoted” the Breaking Dawn star to feeling “more liberated and happier.”

Although People has already confirmed the cover to be “absolutely fake,” Taylor’s reps have yet to release a statement about the photoshop fiasco.
