With a hit TV show and a sold-out tour, Big Time Rush is more popular than ever!
Now, with the premiere of their new TV movie, the aptly titled Big Time Movie (8PM on Nickelodeon), just hours away, BTR (better known asKendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, Carlos Pena, Jr. and James Maslow) is ready to take the world by storm – a sign, perhaps, that boy bands have returned after all.
Celebuzz was on the scene at the premiere of Big Time Movie, held Thursday night in New York City, where we talked about everything from their future movie aspirations to touring with another boy band: Britain’s One Direction.
So, what would happen if BTR and One Direction got together in the studio?
“It would sound like of dudes singing on one song,” Kendall quipped.
“It’s kind of a cool, interesting question,” he added. “Everyone has different tones. In One Direction, there’s guys who have kind of like a rocky voice, and really Broadway; Liam [Payne] has, like, a Broadway voice. But I’m sure it would be something really, super popular.”
“I guess we’ll wait until we make a song and then we’ll show you guys,” said Logan, who added he is “definitely” up for recording with One Direction – if BTR has time, anyway.
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson offered similar enthusiasm about recording with BTR. “I don’t see why not. They’re on the same label as us, so yeah, why not?” he told Celebuzz, joking that the song would be “more of a hip-hop, R&B rap style mash-up.”
Big Time Movie is the latest made-for-television flick from the band, which finds them on an unexpected mission to save the world while on tour in London. Along the way, they cover some of The Beatles’ most popular songs, from ‘Help!’ to ‘We Can Work It Out.’
