Russell Brand has been tapped to host the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, it was announced on Thursday.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star said in a statement, “This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers and you won’t have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out.”
This is the first time Brand will host the show.
He emceed the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 and 2009.
Kristen Stewart, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield,Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg, Chris Hemsworth,Mila Kunis and Michael Fassbender are slated to hand out MTV’s signature popcorn trophies at the ceremony.
The MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET.
