“Demi vs. Britney: IT’S WAR!” blares a headline from Star, which claims Demi Lovato and Britney Spears are viciously fighting on “The X Factor.”
According to the mag, “The two singers can’t stand each other — and their fiery feud is making working on the ‘X Factor’ set unbearable!”
So what’s causing the alleged beef?
A so-called “source” for the tabloid says, “Demi thinks Britney is a twit, and Britney thinks Demi’s beneath her,” adding, “They avoid each other as much as possible when the cameras aren’t rolling.”
But “once the cameras are rolling,” says Star, “things get really bad.”
The mag’s “insider” goes on to claim that Lovato was the “catalyst” for Spears’ “highly publicized march off the set,” explaining that Lovato “could not stop laughing” at Spears’ “horrified look” when a contestant butchered her song.
“Unlike most people, Britney cannot cope with any amount of stress,” reveals the purported insider, who adds, “Demi laughing at her was the last straw. Britney threw her a death stare and stormed off.”
(We’re sure that when the episode airs and none of this actually happens, the mag will claim the supposed drama was “edited out.”)
Anyway, the alleged source concludes, “It’s only a matter of time before they come to blows.”
Sure.
Spears and Lovato are going to duke it out on live television while Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid hold them back?
Please.
While Gossip Cop was, of course, expecting rumors of this kind when Spears and Lovato joined the singing competition, we still can’t help but be shocked by the utter absurdity of this story.
In any case, a rep for Spears tells us it’s “completely not true” that she and Lovato are feuding, noting the singers actually “get along very well.”
“This is a pathetic attempt at creating a story,” adds the rep.
And a Lovato spokesperson reiterates, “It’s all fiction, they’re both having fun on set.”
