“Harry Styles is recording his own songs and hopes to release a solo album,” reads a headline from The Mirror.
According to the tabloid, the One Directionmember ”has co-written several of the numbers” for his supposed “solo album,” and “has worked on early versions of the songs during visits to the renowned Paramount recording studio in Hollywood.”
“He loves messing around with some of the new songs he’s been working on,” a so-called “close pal” tells the Mirror. “He’s bounced some ideas off his friend Ed Sheeran and has already laid down some vocals.”
The British paper goes on to note that while Styles’ “priority” remains with his boy band, “when he decides the time to go solo has arrived, he’s likely to have a project raring to go.”
Wow, so is Styles really working on a secret solo album?
Hardly.
A rep for One Direction tells Gossip Cop that there’s “no truth” to the Mirror’s claims, explaining that “the boys are all recording the new album [and] sometimes they have separate sessions.”
Case closed.
