Evil Dead Scares Up Weekend Win Over G.I. Joe, The Croods & Jurassic Park: Estimates

Evil Dead is expected to scare up a weekend box office victory, according to early estimates.
The remake of the 1980s horror classic is on pace for $27 million in its debut, which would be enough to beat G.I. Joe: Retaliation ($22 million) and The Croods ($21 million).
Jurassic Park 3D, a 20th anniversary re-release of the dinosaur action-adventure flick, is tracking toward an $18 million fourth place finish.
The new Tyler Perry movie Temptation should be in the #5 spot with roughly $11 million.
Olympus Has Fallen ($9.5 million) and Oz the Great and Powerful ($8.5 million) will tangle for sixth place.
Alien invasion adaptation The Host is projected to earn about $5 million, followed by Halle Berry’s 911 thriller The Call ($3.5 million) and Tina Fey’s Admission ($2.5 million).
