West and Kim Kardashian did in fact name their newborn daughter North West, comedian Jay Leno might have seen this coming before the rest of us.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno back in March, Kim laughed at Jay when he brought up rumors at the time that Kanye wanted to name the baby North – “‘so he [or she] would be North West.”
Kim immediately shot down the idea saying emphatically “no, that is not true. That is not one of the names on our list,” she claimed, then added, “‘but that I do like Easton West” but said that name as well was not on the list of potential baby names.
So apparently while “North” wasn’t on Kim’s list, it was high enough on Kanye’s name choices for his baby daughter that he won out.
