Did Val Kilmer Send A Message About Ben Affleck Cast As The New Batman

When news broke Thursday night that Ben Affleck has been cast as Batman opposite Henry Cavill’s Superman in the Man of Steel sequel, the internet pretty much exploded with opinions on the controversial casting.

By early afternoon Friday the news was 4 of the top ten trending topics on Twitter, including “BatFleck” “#betterthanbenaffleck” and “Ben Affleck As Batman” among some of the titles.

And the actor behind one of the best Batman portrayals may have sent us a reminder of how it’s done right.

Val Kilmer tweeted out the picture above of himself in full Batman regalia Friday morning as part of #flashbackfriday.   He’s had plenty of memorable roles, but we can’t help but wonder if the timing of the photo isn’t a little hint to jog our memories on how great he was as Batman.
