Lee Daniels’ The Butler Expected to Win Second Straight Weekend Box Office

Lee Daniels’ The Butler is expected to win its second straight weekend at the box office.
The historical drama starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey is targeting a $16 million take at the gate.
We’re The Millers, the pot smuggling comedy with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis, should finish #2 with about $13 million.
The British comedy The World’s End is on pace for $9.5 million and third place.
Two new releases — The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and You’re Next — should battle with holdover Planes for fourth place, as all three movies are tracking toward $8.5 million.
Elysium should hit $7 million for the #7 slot, followed by Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters ($5 million).
Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine and Kick-Ass 2 are both projected to make about $4 million, rounding out the Top 10.
