Kid Rock’s $13.45M Malibu Pad Isn’t What You’d Expect

Kid Rock makes no secret about the fact that he prefers Detroit to anywhere else.
But the place that he occasionally calls home when he's in Malibu, California, isn't too shabby.
The 42-year-old rocker has listed the 8,305-square-foot home he bought for $11.6 million in 2006 for a whopping $13.45 million, according to Zillow.

The "All Summer Long" singer's house has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, and occupies an acre lot on Malibu's Point Dume. Features include a spacious open floor plan, with indoor and outdoor living areas, as well as a gym, a guesthouse, and a pool with an outdoor shower.
Best of all, though, is what the pad does not include. There's no sign of Kid Rock's signature rockabilly style of cowboy hats mixed with fur and bling. Instead, he worked with designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard (who stars on Bravo's "Million Dollar Decorators") to create a look that's described as "a Balinese oasis."
“Yes, he's a crazy, mad rock star, but he's also very mellow, and he loves to entertain in style," Bullard told the Los Angeles Times Magazine in 2008. "[Kid Rock's] taste is surprisingly sophisticated. We weren't going with red velvet sofas and Gothic chandeliers."
What do you think of the digs?
