Brant Daugherty: I Wanted to Play Gale in 'The Hunger Games'

Brant Daugherty steams up the pages of Bello magazine‘s November issue, available online now!

The 28-year-old actor opened up about dealing with paparazzi, his time on Dancing with the Stars, and his upcoming The Hunger Games spoof flick, The Starving Games. Check it:

On dealing with local paparazzi in Los Angeles: “I’m usually pretty unaware of the paparazzi unless I know they’re going to be somewhere. They have to be crafty to get the shots they want. So far things have been pretty tame. The weirdest thing I’ve seen happened right outside our rehearsal studio for Dancing With The Stars. One of the photographers jumped right in front of my motorcycle as I was driving away. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid running him over. I’m still not sure what he was trying to accomplish.”

On Dancing with the Stars: “I never thought I’d enjoy dancing as much as I do. Before the show, I was always reluctant to get onto the dance floor, and I never had the confidence to really give it a shot. I’ve been learning so much every day and growing as a performer. It’s been such a fun process.”

On playing Dale in The Starving Games: “It was the most fun I’ve ever had on set; we just pitched jokes and laughed during the entire shoot. The directors let us play around and try new things every day. When you watch it, you can tell how much fun we had making it. I screwed up so many takes because I couldn’t stop laughing. I really wanted to play Gale in The Hunger Games movies, so it was an honor to be able to poke fun at the character.”
