Catching Fire Sets Box Office Ablaze, On Pace for $150 Million and Possible Record

Catching Fire is setting the box office ablaze in its debut weekend, and could break a November record in the process.
The highly-anticipated sequel to The Hunger Games is projected to take in $150 million, according to early estimates.
That would top Twilight Saga: New Moon’s $142.9 million from 2009 as the highest November opening ever.
It remains to be seen, however, whether the film, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, will beat the first installment’s $152.5 million start from March 2012.
Thor: The Dark World is likely to finish a distant second this weekend with $15 million.
The Best Man Holiday and Delivery Man are eyeing third and fourth place, respectively.
Possibly landing fifth could be the animated Free Birds.
