Thor: The Dark World is hammering the box office competition on its way to a big weekend win.
The superhero sequel is projected to hit $82 million in its debut, according to early estimates.
That total would easily outpace Last Vegas,Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, and the animated Free Birds, all of which are expected to finish with about $11.5 million.
The sci-fi adaptation Ender’s Game should be in fifth place with $10 million.
Gravity follows with approximately $8.5 million and the #6 spot.
12 Years a Slave is tracking for $6.5 million and seventh place, ahead of Captain Phillips($6 million), About Time ($4 million), andCloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 ($3 million).
