The Hobbit on Pace For Holiday Weekend Win; Frozen and Anchorman Also Strong

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is expected to win the five-day Christmas holiday weekend with about $50 million.

Early estimates have the animated family film Frozen in second place with $43 million, followed by Anchorman: The Legend Continues in the #3 spot with $37 million.

Meanwhile, The Wolf of Wall Street is projected to debut to $35 million, neck and neck with American Hustle ($34 million).

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will open with about $26 million, edging Saving Mr. Banks($24 million) and 47 Ronin ($22 million).

The Top 10 should round out with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire ($16 million) and Grudge Match ($13 million).
