Fifty Shades Of Grey Unrated DVD Teaser Promises Alternate Ending (VIDEO)

The first teaser for the Fifty Shades of Grey DVD premiered on Tuesday, and the preview promises both an unrated edition of the erotic film and an alternate ending. Watch below!
As Extreme Entertainment reported, there was much speculation during the film’s production as to whether the story’s graphic sex scenes would lead to an NC-17 rating at the box office. The MPAA ultimately rated the movie R for “strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity, and for language,” and film goers saw star Dakota Johnson completely naked on screen, and a fleeting glimpse of Jamie Dornan’s penis. But the “unrated” designation for the DVD suggests there may be some previously unseen explicit footage included to get fans hot and bothered anew.
As for the alternate ending, while the teaser gives no indication as to what that may be, it was previously reported that director Sam Taylor-Johnson and Fifty Shades novelist E L James had a dispute over the movie’s final scene. Days before the movie hit theaters, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that while the last word in the film is (spoiler alert!) “stop,” Taylor-Johnson preferred “red,” the safe word used between Anastasia and Christian. The argument was described as “petty and ridiculous,” but also significant in affecting the tone of the ending. James ultimately had final say, but perhaps fans will now get to see Taylor-Johnson’s version.
The teaser also previews a featurette of never-before-seen interviews with the cast and crew. “I knew from the start that it would be a passionate love story. I always described it as a ‘love story with a kink,'” says James, with Dornan explaining, “Essentially it is two people who’ve fallen in love with each other and there’s massive hurdles in the way, things that have happened that have shaped him in ways of sort of great magnitude.” Johnson, meanwhile, says, “Christian and Ana meet each other, and they both happen to be each other’s Achilles’ heel,” adding, “I don’t think that his power or wealth has anything to do with what she feels for him. It’s the way he sees her.”
Fifty Shades of Grey was a bonafide box office hit, grossing $500 million and counting worldwide, all but ensuring the sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, will be produced. While Dornan and Johnson are said to be in negotiations for a raise, it is believed Taylor-Johnson won’t be returning to helm the new installment. But first, the teaser says “the most talked about movie of the year comes home” on May 1. Check out the video below, and tell us if you’re “curious for more,” as the preview asks.
