Hilary Duff hints she lost her virginity as a teen to then-boyfriend Joel Madden. The singer and actress admits in a new interview in Cosmopolitan’s April issue that ending her two-year romance with the Good Charlotte rocker “wrecked” her.
“I had a pretty serious relationship at a younger age that I ended, and it wrecked me for a good year and half,” says Duff. “I didn’t really enjoy being single.” When the former child star was asked when she lost her virginity, Duff replies, “I had a 26-year-old boyfriend. So everyone can make their own assumptions about what I was doing.”
Duff and Madden started dating in 2004, when she was 15 and he was 25. The pair split in 2006 and sometime afterwards the former “Lizzy McGuire” actress began dating Mike Comrie.
Duff also talks about her split from Comrie. The two separated in January 2014 and are now in the process of getting a divorce. As previously reported, Duffs explains, “It wasn’t working well enough to stay together, but there was still a lot of love involved.
