Craig Strickland’s memorial service is being held at 6 p.m. at the Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas, and Extreme Entertainment has a live stream of the ceremony. Watch the late country singer’s friends and family honor him below.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, Strickland and his friend Chase Morland went missing during a duck hunting trip on December 27 after their boat capsized in a winter storm. Morland’s body was found later that day, but Strickland wasn’t recovered for a full week, due to his body being surrounded by bushes and dressed in camouflage gear. It was later reported that hypothermia caused Strickland’s death.
After Strickland’s body was buried earlier on Tuesday, his wife Helen posted a photo on Instagram, along with the caption, “Today I buried my husband. This is a picture of the letter I put in his jacket pocket.” The note began, “I love you with all my heart. I will miss doing life with you on this earth.” She also added, “The lord is taking care of you, and loves you more than I could ever imagine. I can’t wait to see you again in heaven.
