Sean Penn’s Full Interview With El Chapo – WATCH VIDEO

Sean Penn’s full videotaped interview with Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has just been released online. The actor was not present for the interview, but El Chapo prerecorded his answers to Penn’s questions and later sent him the tape. See the 17-minute video below.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, Penn and Mexican actress Kate del Castillo secretly traveled to a remote Mexican jungle last October to meet El Chapo. Upon meeting, the drug kingpin agreed to participate in an interview at a later time, but not in person. The answers from that interview were published in Rolling Stone on Saturday, but now actual footage has emerged of El Chapo responding to the questions.
However, a day before the interview was published, and nearly six months after he escaped from prison, El Chapo was recaptured by the Mexican government. Officials later said that a lead in Penn’s interview inadvertently helped them find the kingpin’s hideout.
In the video below, El Chapo reveals that he began selling drugs when he was 15 because there were “no job opportunities” in his hometown of La Tuna, a small, rural community located in Sinaloa, Mexico. When asked if he believes that drugs “destroy humanity and bring harm,” the drug lord admits, “It’s a reality that drugs destroy.” But he adds, “Where I grew up, there was no other way.”
El Chapo next responds to the accusation he’s “responsible for the high level of drug addiction, and the reason there are so many drugs in the world.” He answers, “No, that’s false. Because the day I don’t exist, it’s not going to decrease in any way at all.”
As to whether or not he considers himself a “violent person,” El Chapo asserts, “No, sir.” He clarifies, “All I do is defend myself, nothing more. But do I start looking for trouble? Never.” And in response to Penn pointing out that the “final days” of most notorious drug traffickers don’t typically end well, El Chapo responds, “I know that one day, I will die. I hope it’s a natural death.”
Watch the full interview below in which El Chapo also talks about his relationship with his mom, his own experience with using drugs, escaping prison, and much more.
