Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande performed a show-stopping duet on “The Voice” season 10 finale on Tuesday. Check out the video below!
For the final episode of the season, the two vocal powerhouses teamed up to sing “Dangerous Woman.” The joint performance was only announced on Monday. And just two hours before the live broadcast, Grande tweeted, “Over the [moon] beyond excited to be sharing the stage w @xtina on @NBCTheVoice tonight. someone please collect me off the floor when we’re done.”
It is not yet known who did the collecting, but Grande’s love of Aguilera is no secret. In fact, back in 2010, she actually tweeted about nearly passing out after seeing Aguilera on a red carpet. Much more recently, the young star amazed when doing a vocal impression of “The Voice” coach on “The Tonight Show” last fall.
Now the duet with Aguilera is a huge milestone in Grande’s life, personally and professionally It’s also her third big TV performance in less than a week. As Extreme Entertainment reported, the singer kicked off the “GMA” Summer Concert Series on last Friday to celebrate the release of her new album, Dangerous Woman. And on Sunday, she performed the single “Into You” at the Billboard Music Awards, which she now sang again before the duet.
As for Aguilera, she went into tonight’s “Voice” finale hoping to be the first female winning coach in the NBC music competition’s history. And though amazing, the collaboration with Grande was actually a last-minute decision. As Extreme Entertainment previously reported, Aguilera originally pre-taped a duet with a hologram of the late Whitney Houston, but the broadcast of the performance was canceled when the Houston family decided the hologram’s quality was unsuitable for airing.
