Jayna Brown wowed the judges and audience alike on Tuesday’s “America’s Got Talent.” The 14-year-old homeless girl from Atlanta sang “Summertime.” Watch the “AGT” video below!
Before Brown performed, she talked about how she and her mom moved to Atlanta but things didn’t work out for them, and they lost their home. She noted now they’re “staying with a neighbor.” But despite the mother and daughter’s financial hardships, they still made their way to Los Angeles for the audition. And it paid off.
No sooner had Brown begun her rendition of “Summertime” than the audience fell in love with her. Throughout her performance, the camera cut away to stunned audience members. They weren’t the only ones, though, mesmerized by the teenager. By the time Brown ended, the entire audience, as well as Heidi Klum and Mel B., were on their feet giving her a standing ovation.
Mel B. kicked it off the judges’ remarks by exclaiming, “What a voice… well done!” Klum then praised Brown saying, “You are fierce. You are fearless… I loved it!” Howie Mandel was also impressed with how the young girl remain composed, noting how she is “so poised beyond your years.” And Simon Cowell flat out told Brown, “I didn’t like that,” before declaring, “I loved that!”
