Meghan Trainor performed a special outdoor concert on Tuesday’s “Today” as part of the morning show’s Citi Concert Series. Watch below!
Trainor hit the stage right in the middle of Rockefeller Plaza, just outside of the “Today” studio in Manhattan. Joined by backup dancers and singers, she had the early-morning crowd going with “No,” “Lips Are Movin,” “Me Too,” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose you,” but sans John Legend. “Me Too” is her current single off her album Thank You.
And the star has a lot to be grateful for lately. She won the coveted Best New Artist Award at the Grammys in February, and soon she’ll be headlining “The Untouchable Tour.” Trainor will hit the road beginning next month with opening acts Hailee Steinfeld and Common Kings.
As for her “Today” appearance, Trainor teased on Monday, “Tomorrow’s gonna be FUN. come say hi!!!! @todayshow.” And plenty of “Megatrons” showed up, even though the “Today” summer concerts are typically held on Fridays. Continuing to break from tradition, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will perform on Thursday, before Steven Tyler’s show to kick off the weekend on Friday. Check out the Trainor videos below, including the singer’s interview!
