Maddie Ziegler performed a special routine with the “So You Think You Can Dance” contestants on Monday’s “Next Generation” finale. Watch below!
As Extreme Entertainment has reported, season 13 of the FOX dance competition has focused exclusively on aspiring dancers between the ages of 8 and 13. At 13 years old herself and already a critically-acclaimed performer, Ziegler was chosen to be one of the judges, joining returning panel members Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo. Throughout the season, the teen stopped by rehearsals to give advice and gently critiqued performances on all of the live episodes.
But tonight’s finale marked the first time that Ziegler took the stage with her peers. She was joined by all of this year’s Top 10 contestants: Tate, Emma, JT, Kida, Tahani, Ruby, Jake, Daniela, Jordyn and Sheaden. All together, they ranged in age from 10 to 14.
And their youth didn’t stop them from putting on a spectacular group performance. Notably, it was only the second time Ziegler performed this season, despite her pedigree. As Extreme Entertainment reported at the time, Ziegler and Travis Wall did a stunning contemporary dance for the 250th episode of “SYTYCD” last month.
Now this is another milestone for both Ziegler and the show. Extreme Entertainment will have full video shortly. Check back soon!
